There’s constant debate around who the greatest MMA fighter of all time is, and that’s only natural with so many contenders for the title. Here are our suggestions.

3. Dan Henderson

Even though the judges didn’t choose him as the winner of the middleweight championship, he’s living proof that a 40+ fighter can survive alongside the best in the discipline. In his lengthy career, he’s fought practically everybody, ending with the triumph over Michael Bisping in their rematch.

Dan’s deadly right hand and excellent skills made him the first man to hold two belts in a major MMA promotion (Pride FC) at the same time.

2. Joanna Jedrzejczyk

There are plenty of great female MMA fighters out there, but this former Muay Thai champion and ex-Women’s Strawweight Champion is truly the best, particularly in the lighter classes. Although her strikes aren’t the most powerful, her consistency makes her stand out. Her foes are worn down by her relentless barrage of kicks, punches, elbows, and knees.

With her excellent grappling skills, she personifies the nightmare opponent for every single MMA fighter at 115 today.

1. Demetrius Johnson

Demetrius heads our list of the greatest fighters of all time, being the best-rounded and an undefeated fighter to boot. Might Mouse, as he is called by non-supporters, is almost perfect in every aspect of fighting. Early on in his career, he had some setbacks against tougher opponents, but he soldiered on to become the GOAT. His wrestling skills are perfect, as is his BJJ game.

Moreover, his strikes are unique in the sense that you can be caught from awkward angles and he’ll still generate enough leverage and torque to deliver great power and maintain balance at the same time. Demetrius Johnson is the ideal prototype of an MMA fighter.
